Why? Just because they believe in L. Another controversial belief held by Scientologists is that the practice of psychiatry is destructive and abusive and must be abolished.
I can't imagine why you think they're weird.

Yep, all that. It was really just the way they acted. Just very off. Like, detached almost like they were hypnotized or something. It was very awkward trying to communicate with them
