I'm sorry for your loss. As a Vet - I am on the other end of this often. I've come to accept that it is a needed service. It's ok to be upset by it. Normal even. Some men have a hard time with that, but shouldn't.

Vet.

I was amazed. They gave him the sedative to help him relax. They came back with the lethal shot but he literally passed away in my hands before they administered it. Obviously it was the right choice even though I hate going through the process.

The veterinarian said that's only the second time he's seen the sedative actually take a dogs life. I feel more at peace knowing we didn't have to administer the lethal shot.

Don't know how you do it, but glad you do!

My vet's been through this with us enough times, she cried at the last one. Always helps to know she cares too, but it's got to be rough.
