Jones is heading into his third season:

2013: 5-7 (2-6) Ranked #26 nationally by 247 in recruiting
2014: 7-6 (3-5) Ranked #7 nationally by 247 in recruiting
2015: *** (***) Currently ranked #3 nationally by 247 in recruiting

Not asking how many wins you SEE, but how many wins will it take to be happy? What will you consider a successful season?

Sept.5 – vs. Bowling Green (Nashville)
Sept. 12 – Oklahoma
Sept. 19 – Western Carolina
Sept. 26 – at Florida
Oct. 3 – Arkansas
Oct. 10 – Georgia
Oct. 17 – Bye
Oct. 24 – at Alabama
Oct. 31 – at Kentucky
Nov. 7 – South Carolina
Nov. 14 – North Texas
Nov. 21 – at Missouri
Nov. 28 – Vanderbilt

I think 8 regular season wins has become the consensus going into next season.

Anything more then that is a cherry on top

I only see six wins on their schedule?

the should be competing for the East next year... returning QB... bunch of playmakers at WR and RB... great DL... solid DBs...

every UT fan on this board will down play their expectations for 2015, but the reality is they should be competing for the East and take significant steps forward next season... it shouldn't take more than 3 years to rebuild, especially the way UT has recruited.

I'll be very happy with 9-3. 8-4 is okay as long as UT gets some quality wins. 2016 is the year that we kick some arse, not 2015.

8-4 will be the minimum expectation. And all things considered would be the best season Tennessee has had since '07 which is sad, but after everything we have been through would feel great.

We HAVE to beat Florida next year though. That game will set the tone for the season and we should have the more talented team next year.

It should be a 2 horse race between UGA and them

Still seems like a tough schedule. Oklahoma even in a down year isn't going to exactly be an auto win.

@ Florida is a place where UT generally shits the bed, even if they are actually better than Florida.

@ Alabama obviously will be tough.

I see a lot of toss ups on that schedule too.

I think they have a chance to win the SEC East, but they'll have to play more consistently than they have in a long time.

8 regular season wins is the minimum to really call it a "success". 7 and a bowl win is on par. Anything below is a disappointment.

8+ is the expectation. So much depends on that OL but even they should be better, especially if Blair takes his spot at tackle as is expected.

I am going to say I want 8 wins just to be safe but I can honestly see this team winning 10 games next season maybe. I can not see anything less that 7 though. There is an excitement and energy on campus right now that has lacked the past 6 seasons. Butch is doing good things.

I think they have built a ten win team. I'm rooting for them.

I agree that 8 regular season wins is a reasonable expectation. This is how I see it.

Sept.5 – vs. Bowling Green (Nashville) - WIN
Sept. 12 – Oklahoma - Toss Up
Sept. 19 – Western Carolina - WIN
Sept. 26 – at Florida - Toss Up
Oct. 3 – Arkansas - Toss Up
Oct. 10 – Georgia - Toss Up
Oct. 17 – Bye
Oct. 24 – at Alabama - Loss
Oct. 31 – at Kentucky - WIN trending towards Toss Up
Nov. 7 – South Carolina - WIN
Nov. 14 – North Texas - WIN
Nov. 21 – at Missouri - Toss Up
Nov. 28 – Vanderbilt - Win

I see 8 wins with the Florida W being an "upset"

I think they'll get the upset vs OU, but that game vs Arkansas could determine what kind of season Tennessee will have. Both teams finished strong, carrying a lot of momentum going into the '15 season, and have a lot coming back. The winner I think will go on to have a better year and possibly win their respected divisions. The loser will probably still go on to have a good year, but not nearly the kind that you want in year 3 from your HC.

The east is wide open next year and I will be disappointed if we are not in the race. I am okay with 8 wins (I'm hoping for more obviously) as long as one of those wins is against UGA, UF, or BAMA. It's time to start breaking these streaks. It all depends on our line development. We have the horses to compete at every other position.

8 Wins. I think Mizzou is winnable, too. If I were a Tennessee fan, I think that's the number I would want to hit with obvious improvement on offense. If those two things happen I think recruiting will stay at an elite level and I think it should indicate Butch has a firm grip on the reins.
