A lot of up tempo spread teams tend to be around 270-290 and a lot of ground and pound tend to go 305-330 ish. Depends on your style of play.


NFL Linemen are fricking massive.

Baylor is an up tempo team but our starting OLine averaged 313 pounds this season. This doesn't even account for the 390lb backup G we have.

that's changing though, Justin Britt is starting for the Seahawks, and is a 300 pound lineman, it's about quickness, agility and strength, when trying to stay with fast edge rushers or go out and block quicker players in space. Being way overweight doesn't help with that.
