The majority of historians agree a Jesus individual existed around that time of history in that region of the world. Whether or not he did half of what the Bible claims of him is up to the individual.

The Jesus myth was born out of an overcompensation by non-religious people to discredit Christianity.
First of all, there is a nearly endless list of better ways to discredit Christianity. Second, everyone recognizes that Muhammad existed but 80% of the world isn't Muslim.
