It is called the "little man syndrome".
We have all know these type people...they are short, undersized, and mostly irrelevant but they try to make up for it with machoism.
Arkansas fans have this same syndrome. They have always been irrelevant to their SWC bretheren and feeling like the red headed step child since Arkansas was the only school not in Texas. Sure they had flashes of good seasons, and a few conference championships but nothing consistent. But winning the SWC was much easier with the overall weak conference. They hated Texas but it was one-sided.
Then Arkansas moves to the SEC. Again, flashes of good seasons but nothing of any consistency. And certainly no championships.
So the only way the fans can feel relevant is by smack talking much like the short undersized guy we all know.

Care to summarize your dissertation? The last long post I read from an LSU fan gave me the shits.
Thanks in advance.
