Defense is dead. Who cares about making stops when you can put up 40 plus points a game. The average fan cares more about 200 plays run a game in a hurry up manner than actual hard hitting football. In 10 years the base formation for teams will be the 5 wide spread.

I'll take a great offense over a great defense every day of the week. It's easier to find weaknesses in a defense when your offense is capable of anything.

You win the game any way you can. Offense, defense, whatever you have to do to end up with more points than the other team. That's all that matters.

They let offensive lines and receivers get away with murder these days.

We all know there's holding on every play but it just doens't get called as much. This makes it hard for a defensive front to dominate the offense if they are allowed to hold.

And we all know there's funny business between receivers and db's on every play, but the ratio of pass interference called on defense vs offense is about 10-1.

Tough for a defense to stop an offense when the receivers are allowed to break the rules and you get called for it.

It's 7-7 right now and the first quarter is almost over.

Well, OSU is up right now because they've stopped Oregon twice, not sure I agree with you.

I think the average fan cares about winning games no matter what style it is. Yes a flashy offense is more enjoyable to watch then a tough defense we no offense (IMO).

But what is your complaint here? Who are you blaming? Do you just want all offenses to line up in a power I formation and run run play action? The defense need to catch up. Football is an ever evolving game.

OSU just had a fourth down goal line stop.
