Do y'all think that may be hindering a hire? Or is that all on Miles and Co. dragging their feet?

Really, you think Miles is just sitting around waiting for someone to call him for the DC spot.

Coordinators get fired all the time in college and the NFL. Do they usually fire the position coaches at the same time?

Seems to me that the position coaches largely teach technique whereas it's the coordinator that is in charge of choosing what schemes to implement and what situations to run them in. As long as the incoming coordinator isn't implement some radically different defensive schemes I don't know why it would be a problem. LSU isn't likely to change to a radically different scheme.

I'm far from an expert but I don't think it's necessary to jettison the position coaches in order to appease the incoming DC. Also, recruiting is a huge consideration at the college level and it's best not to rock the boat there unless there are serious concerns about their abilities to coach their positions. And if there were concerns, we shouldn't have extended their contracts.
