this isn't that impressive honestly, sure i swam in college and all... but at 13 i was doing >9 miles a day in the summer and x-mas unquestioned. an alleged 9 miles in 10-12 hours works out to over 2 minutes for a single 50m lap in an olympic sized pool. to put that in better perspective i'm adding Eric the Eel at the 2000 olympics watch his last lap... that controlled drowning is twice the "speed" the football player was moving in the water. so basically he was floating.

When you were swimming in college, you had trained and trained for hours/days/weeks to swim that far. This guy did it from a flat stop. Let's not puff our chests out.

yeah like i was 13 swimming in college, and that 62 year old lady doesn't stack up too well with an elite athlete such as a former nfl player. without training a single lap in over 15 years and collapsing a lung in that time frame, i could easily make that swim no problem. if you gave me a waterproof case and waterproor matches i could do it while smoking a pack of black and milds. the hardest part would be smoking all 5 black and milds in 6 hours or less.
