I was a swimmer. I have swam 4 miles in the ocean but it was escorted.

The total mind frick of unexpectedly falling off a boat into cold water and having to swim for your life is something I have no experience with. That snafu can't be overestimated.

I have 3 boats, 41' Sailboat, 31' inboard power twin and 26' outboard power cat. Never leave the dock without my flotation gear on, nor do I permit anyone else to be on the boat, away from the dock, without a life preserver, just plain common sense.

There are old pilots and bold pilots but there are not OLD BOLD PILOTS
