I'm not sure if it's a phobia or just being smart. But the ocean just gives me the creeps. 99% of what lives in the ocean eats meat, I am meat. I don't need to be a part of that food chain.
When everyone is saying they are afraid of heights, are you talking 6' off the ground or 200' looking out of a window in a building?

I'm not a fan of going out on boats. I'll swim in the shallow part of the Ocean but I don't think I could do cruises. I've watched to many of those Rogue Wave videos and the perfect storm and I've seen to many of those sicknesses that spreads across the boat stories on the news.

Claustrophobia. Worst fear (nightmare) is stuck in a tight place and unable to get out.

quote:High areas where I'm exposed. 200' where I can't see outside all around me actually doesn't bother me. A simple window wouldn't bother me honestly. Now, one of the motels at the beach where the doors open outside where you can see right over the railing? Ain't nobody got time for dat.

I take it that Georgia Tech isn't your favorite OOC team?
I can take center consoled fishing boat and go out 100 miles offshore in decent weather, but hate heights in a plane.
My other phobia is spiders...no other insects like roaches or flying insects bother me. Snakes and rats...no big deal...but spiders will cause me nighmares.

Not really acrophobia, but rather the lack of barriers/rails/fences on higher places. I'm cool with heights, I just like the security of something stopping me from going off that height
Like on top of a building with no railing or infinity pools that ledge off a skyscraper.
I've kinda found I'm a little more paranoid of flying now compared to when I was younger. I over-think it now...

Steep bridges, especially over water. Feels like mini panic attacks.

Deep water and the unknown below it.
I'd have a heart attack being stuck in the open ocean.
