Wonder who Rams fans will blame next year when they finish 6-10/7-9 again and their QBs still blow?

You know who else sucked as a NFL coach?
Nick Saban ...

One of his two average years came with Brett Favre at QB.

So, in essence, you've posted about this play more times today, as a critique of Schotty, than the play has ever occurred on a football field.
Gotta assume you didn't watch many Rams games. He called that play a number of times this year. Everytime they lined Tavon up in the backfield, I would think, ok, THIS time it'll be a toos sweep or something to attack the edges....and each time it was a run into the gut of the defense. It was completely predictable that if Tavon lined up at RB, it was a run up the middle.
Shottenhiemer is one of the most unimaginative play callers we've had since Martz, and that's saying something. You'd have been better off hiring Pat Shurmur.

Hell yeah. He should do great
Uncreative is more accurate.
You'll quickly learn to hate him like we have.

I love the hire. Defenses can't stop CHUB even when they know it's cummin

From our 5-star commit Terry Goldwin...

5-star WR Terry Godwin of Callaway High School: “I love it!! I’m going to be in an offense that someone that I tried to make my game like his … which is Tavon Austin.”
He's ok with the the way Austin was used....

Nah. The Son of Al will move the Raiders here.

He must not follow the Rams too closely then.
Austin was the golden ring in Schottenheimer's pig nose. Completely misused for most of KS's tenure.

We don't need creative. We need handoffs and play action. It's not rocket science.

Sure, to beat 90% of college teams.
It's the last 10% that'll have you wanting to gouge your eyes out.
Who knows, maybe the college game will be Schotty's niche.

He will be running Richt's offense. Nobody is asking him to install his own scheme. I imagine the terminology, formations, sets, etc will remain the same. With the other position coaches coming back, I doubt the offense changes much, if at all. We put up 37 on a top rated defense with the tight ends coach calling the plays, so I doubt he could do worse

A truly good or great coach usually produces results above the level of talent at his disposal. A mediocre or worse coach produces results that reflect his talent level. I'd buy your argument for a year or two, not every year Schottenheimer has been in the NFL.

Bingo.... gotdamn, what we do ain't rocket science. Simple play action pro style set with some 4-5 wideout & h-back motion sets. Power run with a lotta TE & crossing patterns....

People can say what they want about Richt as a HC, but the guy knows offense. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he won't choose some dunce to run his.

Just make sure Richt can pull the reigns in on him when he insists that he's going to outsmart the other teams by making Chubb a WR.

Then he never watched the Rams play either. If he wants to be used like Austin was used, then he has no NFL aspirations. I think your recruits are excited because all they see is that you hired an NFL OC.
Good luck. But I see Charlie Weis comparisons in your future. Whatever your recruits are saying, 99.9% of Rams fans (who actually watched Shottie's work the last few years) are freaking ecstatic that he's gone. His failure to use Tavon Austin properly is the biggest reason for that.

Thinking rationally, why might he have moved Austin into the backfield? Probably because they wanted to get him the ball and couldn't do it at WR. It makes some sense given the Rams' QB situation. Coaches don't do things like that on a whim.
Seems unlikely that he was trying to trick anybody.
