One other psychological element that makes it tough - we have been the favored team for every game since 2009. More often than not, the line is generally greater than a TD - even against top 10 teams. It is crazy! It has to be tough to always be expected to win every game.

I don't mind so much that we lost. What pisses me off is the over the last few years, we've lost that "make his arse quit" mentality.
We get that back with the talent Saban keeps hauling in and my dumb arse could coach us to 8 wins.

I agree. The one time we've played someone without that element was Miss State this year IMO. They came in #1 and I think our guys were charged up to beat the #1 team. We seemed to play pretty loose for the first quarter or two of that game.
In the end though, we're going to be carrying that albatross. That's why its easier to build a program than it is to sustain it.
