He is as or more athletic that any of them

Let me stop you right here. We have 3 Olympic level athletes at corner. Jackson isn't one of them. I'm not writing Eddie off, just as I didn't wrote Cyrus off last year. Tony Brown is a Milliner level athlete though. Good size and blazing speed. Jackson is a great tackler and a great leaper but he is not a burner. Cyrus is our best corner at the moment and it's not really close. If anyone was in need of safety help this year it was jackson, it was pretty rare that a guy got behind cyrus this year, I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere. I just think with the talent we've got at corner coming back, it may not be a bad idea to look at them as a group and ask which one is the best fit at safety, a postition that we need depth. Not only do I think Jackson is that guy by a wide margin, I think that will allow a better athlete to step in at corner, under the condition they know what they're doing. I think getting the best 11 on the field next year includes Eddie Jackson, I just don't think its at corner.

I know just switching positions isn't the easiest thing to ask, but I won't be shocked at all if he gets a look at safety this spring. When the staff sits down and ranks the players 1-85 they're going to realize they need to find a way to get Brown and Humphrey on the field in some capacity. Shouldn't be overlooked that they took a lot of scout team reps against Amari Cooper either. Those two may be the best athletes on the team, it's going to be hard to keep them on the bench.

In terms of athleticism:

Brown > Humphrey > Sheffield > Fitzpatrick > Jones > Jackson

I would like to see Eddie at safety where we need more bodies. A true freshman may come in and be our most talented safety.

At QB I feel like we are in great shape. I have no idea who wins the job but the competition will be great and ensure that we have a winner there.

At RB I look for Drake to assert himself as the dominant guy here and Jones to earn the backup role. My hope for Henry is for him to learn to run like the 240 llb monster that he is. Do not be so soft Derrick.

OL should be leaps and bounds better. More depth than any previous Saban squad. I feel like Cam might be the best lineman in the country.

The DL is stacked. Enough said.

LB worries me against the spread teams but will shine against the razorbacks and LSU's of the world.

We know we have the best punter in the nation and a capable kicker. I want to see Drake return kicks this year and continue to play our five stars on the return team.
