Rooster, do you have anything at all on Mitch. Charleston columnist sliced him badly today.

This kid had tons of accolades when we signed him.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently players on the team don't even think Mitch is gonna be the starter next year.

Talked to someone that hangs out with players on a regular basis and they say he just doesn't care enough to be the starter. I knew he liked to party from first hand experience but was kinda shocked to year what I heard today.

Guess it's all aboard the Nunez train

I've met him - seemed polite enough. Looked the part of a D1 QB. Didn't do anything that made me think along the lines of Garcia - far more clean-cut that Garcia ever was.

But hey, the older I get the more jaded I'm becoming and a lot of them look like spoiled snot-nosed little entitled shits to me these days. I've almost reached the point where I don't like meeting some of them until they've been around for awhile and shown what they've got and what they're made-of.

So, with regard to Mitch here's what I've heard.

Has good days and bad days - seems to take some days off. Work ethic has been questioned, especially in the off season. That's expected to change now that he's within reach of the job. Had some girl problems, broken heart, whatever, which allegedly caused him to do some stupid things with some other girls. Not uncommon, he just seemed to fall prey to the outside influences and it's disappointed Spurrier and G.A. to the point where there are now some character questions in the air. He's been given the speech about not letting girls screw-his-head-up.

Who was the Charleston Columnist? Gene Suckacock? Is Charlie Bennett still down at the Chas P&C?

I think the girl Mitch got stomped by was a Charleston girl, or down around there somewhere. Makes me wonder.

Anyways, Nunez will sure get his chance. If I hear the name "Orth" come out of Spurrier's mouth this coming season I am going to cancel my Gamecock Club membership.

I keep hearing a lot of good things about Scarnecchia and I hope they are genuine. They want him to get up and over 205 before the spring rolls around, but he's having trouble putting on weight. He's a hard worker though.

It's Mitch's job to lose as things stand right now - if he can get his head on straight.
