One Finger for the First Quarter

Alabama women's basketball players started that back in the 70's when they started dominating every other female squad on the court in the first quarter.

Other teams would be flabbergasted at the speed and depth at which the Alabama women dribblers overtook and pounded their opponents. They were the 1990's Chicago Bulls of their day.

Anyway, they held up their middle fingers to the crowd and took on the moniker "finger bangers," indicating their first period prowess against their rivals.

It caught on everywhere. Fortunately, Alabama women's basketball was heavily played over the AM radio, and every adolescent male and female wanted to "finger bang," so everyone started doing it.

It's a fad that started and just won't quit.
