It's a great city that I live in as a young man (and is obviously a whole hell of a lot of fun). I could see your issues with raising a family here. This is an expensive city and is outrageously inclusive, meaning that if you're not from here, you'll never be from here.

Too be clear. I would raise a family in Metairie, just not the city itself.
