so if now, Mizzou can land Beckner and the Davis bros, this will be the highest "rated" class ever for Pinkel? Seems pretty certain it would be. At that point does the "stars don't matter" chorus find a new mantra?

As we noted Oregon is the only playoff team that's not an annual top 10 recruiter, and they are a top 20 recruiter. Supposing Baylor had made it in, you could say there is a way, but I wonder if the committee isn't at least a little biased by perception of things like recruitment talent level.

Either way we have seen enough of Mizzou's struggles in conference championship games to know there is a talent gap, and breaking that barrier is as important as anything GP's staff can do in the quest for the final level.

I'm hearing that he has been recruited to play Safety and that he is likely to play baseball as he is projected to go in the first round.

At this point, I don't think he's projected as a 1st rounder in baseball coming out of high school. My understanding is yes, he will play baseball at Mizzou though. As for safety...I bet that's where he ends up, though GP in typical GP fashion has told him he can play wherever he wants.
