History is like a web. Removing one thread can have major consequences. I was under the impressions that the NFL was Saban's dream. Thanks for confirming that.

Now one must consider that Saban may have landed in a more favorable or worse situation that he inherited at Miami. If it's more favorable, he might have stayed in the NFL. If it's worse, he'd return to college.

If he enjoys great success in the NFL, then he certainly would be a very good coach, but how would the SEC be affected if he never returned?
