So me and the SO are looking at a potential weekend getaway to Nashville (would drive down on a Friday and back on a Sunday) in the next couple months and are looking for some ideas on places to stay, eateries, and things to do.
I know that we definitely plan on hitting up the Parthenon and the SO isn't a big country guy (and I've been to both the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry).
Ideas?

Go to Husk. Sit anywhere you can. Eat everything they'll bring you.
The Corsair distillery and tasting room is in the Marathon Village building along with some other shops including Antique Archaeology.
The Trader Joes is pretty cool too I guess.
Personally, I think staying at Opryland is neat, but Aloft in West End near Vandy is cool too.

Take in a Preds game, even if you don't like hockey on tv. It's the absolute best sport to watch in person.
The Hermitage if you're into history. Broadway for live music. Riverfront Park is ok. I was always drunk everytime that I made it over there though...

This is something I posted for a LSU fan asking about the music city bowl. Hope it helps.

Also, suggestions for restaurants in Nashville?
Can't really speak on KOA other than the Opryland one is near shopping and restaurants. It's also around ten minutes from downtown. Nashville has a shite ton of good restaurants, so it really depends where you're at. BBQ- peg leg porker, Martins, Jacks( downtown) and Edleys
For Nashvilles famous hot chicken try Hattie Bs or Princes.
In midtown- Boundry is great. Rotiers for a great burger. South Street for some laid back seafood.
Downtown- Nice Restaurants= The Southern, Watermark and Etch
Broadway Brewhouse, Baileys and the Flying Saucer are great for brews and food.
Anywhere in the Gulch is great.
Loveless Cafe, a little west of town is one of the most famous restaurants in Nashville and May have the best biscuits in the country. Also, pancake pantry is very well known near Vandy.
I'm also a fan of Soulshine pizza in midtown for food and live music. Also try The Row in that area.
Also gotta mention....... Lockeland Table, Patterson House and Masons Southern Provisions.
Like I said, in Nashville there are no shortages of good restaurants to hit up.

Eat breakfast at Noshville one morning.. There will be an hour wait at Pancake Pantry but Noshville is just as good without the long wait.. There are two locations in the city.

Not a suggestion but Nashville is just an awesome place. It's without a doubt the best large city in the South.
