Two years ago one of my neighbors had an altercation with police officers, he didn't punch one, but he did shove one. He was released without bond. I can't recall if he was ultimately convicted, but being released without bond isn't necessarily an indication of innocence.

Solid comparison. I assume there is dash cam footage of the incident anyway. So that should shed some light.
