The worry with Kimbrough and Carter isn't about whether they can breakdown and tackle a running back. The concern is whether they're good enough covering in space, which they're asked to do a lot vs. modern offenses. Most of Kimbrough's plays on special teams weren't really happening in space. They were mostly him filling his lane.
Eta: another example is Reuben Foster. He's really good in kick coverage, but got worked when he was out their in base D because he struggles in coverage.

Are you talking pass coverage?If so, that's the very last of my
worries.Our losses this year were because we couldn't stop the
run vs SC,UF and GT and Wilson and Hererra were God awful
in those games...especially SC and GT.
