For real but only in name. Technically speaking, you're not allowed to have alcohol on campus but practically speaking it's not dry at all. Most of the time no one goes after it and Greek Row has keggers all the time without anyone bothering them. It's only when UTPD is getting froggy or someone calls police for a fight/noise disturbance etc. that it matters and even then only on occasion.

Our admin has even signed on to the current push by several college presidents to lower the drinking age to 18, if that gives you any indication of how it's treated. BUT with our super-conservative legislature changing the policy would not be worth it - better to do what we do which is basically to ignore that.

Also because the Strip is so close it's never been a big deal for those who don't want to chance alcohol in the dorms (but alcohol in dorms is incredibly common, FWIW and no one does much about it).
