1) recruiting - Saban and the REC are the best
2) weight training - very strong
3) preparation - the best
4) game day decisions - average. Cost him games.

How easy is that?

Sure I can. I'd wager I can use as many as four:

Top 2? We talking #1 every year but one.
It's probably easy to win 10 games with that but it's never easy to win the natty. This year may be his best work as a coach. Who else could revamp their entire defensive style, bring in a new OC, and get to the PO's with a RB for a QB?

Please he made yall relevant again. That isn't something that a regular Joe could do.

I actually think he's very good at that too. It's impossible to get them all right. He's made some pretty famous blunders but not that many. Every decision seems huge if you lose but you got to admit that doesn't happen much.

He has won ten or more games every year since 2008.
Assuming that talent is the sole reason for this -- as rival fans sometimes claim -- then one must assume that, were he a decent coach, he'd go undefeated year in and year out.
Name me a coach who has done this, much less in the modern-day SEC West.
Unrealistic expectations intended to set someone up for a fall. The entire premise is false on its face.

I honestly wouldn't trade Gus for Saban. Not saying Saban isn't a great coach but I just wouldn't want him at AU personally. I'd take him ahead of MOST, but Saban wouldn't be my second choice honestly.

Nice response thread. Huge sign of insecurity.

seeing as how he lost most everywhere else he has been when he didn't get the best players, one could say its a lot easier at bama than anyplace else. the brand is strong, saban just keeps it betwwen the lines and out the gutter

It's going to be funny when Saban retires and Bama goes back to being LSU'S bitch full time again.
