I have been disappointed since Wimp. 20+ years of wondering through the freaking desert. I thought Gottfried had found the promise land but it was just a mirage. I had high hopes for Grant but I haven't seen enough improvement to warrant keeping him around after the season is over. Its basically the same thing every year with Grant.

I would rather fall on my face making a change, while trying to improve, than wallow around in mediocrity.

I loved the Grant hire at first and was still behind him when most weren't, but the last couple years, I've been losing hope. Honestly if he can't get to the NCAAT this year, I'm not sure how anyone could really justify keeping him. I've also had enough of people pointing out legendary coaches' starts as a reason to keep Grant. If everyone went by that philosophy, coaches would keep their jobs for an eternity regardless of how their team performs. Just because Coach K turned things around doesn't mean Grant will. I actually do think Grant could be a successful coach, but if he can't get it done this year I don't think it's going to happen at UA. He's been given more than ample time to prove himself. It's time to put up or shut up.

It's really hard for me to understand support for Grant at this point. I was done after year 3 but gave him the beneift of the doubt for year 4. After year 4 I'd had enough but was told he needs at least one more year by people on this board who know far more about basketball than I do. After year 5 was sub-par I couldn't care less what anyone else thought. It was already time for him to go and now he's on borrowed time imo. If he wins a couple games in the NCAAt I will concede improvement and will look forward to the future. If we make the tourney and lose in our first or second game I will accept the fact we will keep him around longer but I will in no way be happy about it.

I hope you stick around. You are welcome here. But so are people with a negative opinion of Grant. We can co-exist. I promise.
