I totally agree. There is nothing like chicken fingers from Crowes. When I first moved to Tuscaloosa I had my friends when coming up from Troy to stop and bring me chicken from Crowes. There is nothing like it.

I grew up in Dothan from about age 8-9 until I went to Troy. All I really knew about Troy before then was that it was the town we got off of 231 onto Highway 10 to take us across the state to my grandparents in Choctaw county. For some reason Mom always wanted to stop at this chicken place and get an order of fried livers. Then I tried one. Changed my life. Something about that dark meat and their sauce was magical. We all had our favorite stops along the way. Mom's was Crowe's, mine was the old Smokehouse in Greenville. They served that thick cut bacon with the rind still on it. One of the greater things about travel is all the unique food along the way.
