If the rumors that Foster is going be A&M's new DC are true...

Edit: I should add that I have no idea if this is true or not. I post this knowing full well it might blow up in my face. But I pray to little baby Jesus, who I like to imagine wearing a tuxedo, that it is true.

Here's some of the noise on the interwebs:
quote:
I've heard from two sources I trust that A&M has come to an agreement with their next defensive coordinator, and it is Virginia Tech's defensive coordinator Bud Foster. Foster has been Virginia Tech's defensive coordinator since the 1995 season, and has coached some of the best defensive units in the nation multiple times.
Foster has had eight teams finish in the top ten in total defense since 1999, including the #1 units in 2005 and 2006. During that same time period, his teams have finished top ten in scoring defense nine times, including the #1 unit in 1999 and 2006, #2 in 2001, '04, and '05, and #3 in 2007.
Foster's 2014 unit is currently #17 in the nation in total defense, giving up 331.7 yards per game. The Hokies are also #17 in scoring defense, giving up 20.4 points per game.
Foster is known for fielding strong units that are technically sound, and strong against the run. If he can improve A&M's run defense and improve the defense's fundamentals in tackling, he will be a huge addition to the program.
Foster has an annuity that pays him $800,000 if he is still at Virginia Tech on December 31, 2014, so it remains to be seen when this hire will become official, and if he will remain on at Tech through the Military Bowl, where they face Cincinnati on December 27.
Edit: I should add that I have no idea if this is true or not. I post this knowing full well it might blow up in my face. But I pray to little baby Jesus, who I like to imagine wearing a tuxedo, that it is true.

I freaking filled a jar at the title. That's a jar I won't get back.
Don't be posting this shite here when there is nothing to say.
Gotta get another jar. Premature celebratory jar filling aint fun.

He's the highest paid assistant in the country...... I don't see what he'd gain going to A&M (no offense) unless he's wanting to get away from Beamer.

Would have been a good hire 10 years ago

Beamer is in real trouble. The loss to Wake Forest along with the other disappointing losses has VT alum pissed.
Bud Foster would be an awesome hire. At least then your D would fight.
