I figured I'd start a comprehensive thread for all of the other High School Football enthusiasts on the board.
Should be a good weekend for some football in the Dome..

Archer 11-3, #1 Seed Region 8
vs.
Colquitt County 14-0, #1 Seed Region 1

Washington County 14-0, #1 Seed, Region 3

-Don't be fooled by ELCA's record, their losses came to Mt. Paran and higher classification teams. They haven't lost since Week 7
-Mt. Paran has a player that Rusty Mansell from 247 has been harping on for a while named Dorian Walker that could be headed to an SEC school
-Players to Watch:

frick Mays, but frick Northside more. Hope Mays can pull it off. It would make me feel better...I guess. And thank you for the kind words about my Gators

State Championships are not that elusive for Northside 2006 and 2007. However, they have been the braves of highschool football the last 15 years. Go Eagles

I've seen Archer and Colquitt...I say the Packers carry home the trophy...they are the real deal...Region 1 6A is no joke son..

Colquitt Co. HS used to be Moultrie HS. Ray Goff play QB for them back in the 70's.

GAC is fast. They have a great running back. They beat my hometown last week 44-41 in a dog fight.

Irwin has a running back that is really good. He also plays DB. He is a small guy but he carries that team. If you are going to beat Irwin you have to shut him down.

That 6A game should be a dogfight. I'd usually say Colquitt takes it because of their track record, but Archer is easily the hottest team in the state right now. I think Archer wins a close one.

Have you seen that Running Back play? Mansell thinks he could be a late offer type of guy for the Dawgs at DB..

It would not surprise me at all to see Colquitt take it though. Winning Region 1 is like a miniature state title in itself...
I can't believe that Bull Barge kid doesn't have any D1 offers yet (that I know of) ... He's a beast. Plus his name is Bull. That would earn him an offer from me if I was a Head Coach...I mean if your name is Bull you're gonna be a badass

That's a name from the past.Used to be a power in the big school classification back in the day (AAA,AAAA)
Produced some DGD's...Steve and Bob Kelly,Chris McCarthy etc.

Northside will take 5A. Mays should have lost to Jones Co two rounds ago.
Posted on 12/10/14 at 9:54 am to GhostofCrowell
I'll fully admit to being a grouch/a-hole, but seven "state champions" seems excessive to me. Do we really need six classifications plus a private school classification in single A?
Seems like it waters down a state title somewhat.

Maybe so...but too much disparity in school size in Georgia now a days...
Posted on 12/10/14 at 10:02 am to GhostofCrowell
Guess it could be worse, Alabama has seven classifications and less than five million people in the state.
It's like Oprah out there: "And YOU get a state championship! And YOU get a state championship! And YOU get a state championship...."
Maybe I'm still bitter that I've never won a state title.

Well, it kinda is this year(I'm well aware of the history)
Did Colquitt even a have a close game in their region schedule?
Not exactly the sign of a dominant region.
