This is myth, thinking one style or another had an advantage based on where the the games are played has led to schools hiring the likes of Stan Heath, John Pelphrey etc. who coached under coaches who use this style, all sucked on the road.

Only the elite teams finish a season with a road record above .500, good to great teams will have a record around .500. Doesn't matter what style they play, who their coach is, what their philosophy to lead to wins is, etc.

Which means there is something else to it than style of play, something simple to figure out, yet very hard to implement.
