They were actually really good at basketball before the football program started up. Matter of fact, after football started, the basketball program started to slide.

Neither of these "facts" are accurate. Plus, UAB didn't have a single home crowd over 30K, let alone "multiple times".

Here are the numbers and make no mistake, the higher-end attendance figures are more of a result of the road team's fans traveling to the game than UAB fans actually supporting the program.
