Yes, a nice bowl game is on the horizon for the Bulldogs, and that's great, but you know Bulldogs fans are probably a little more concerned with the next move by Dan Mullen.

quote:

Big schools would be crazy not to go after Mullen, who is in his sixth year at Mississippi State, and Mullen would be doing himself an injustice if he didn't at least listen.

quote:

Though Mullen has built something that certainly has the potential to last under his watchful eye, he will likely have a big decision to make in the coming weeks, and no one should fault him for weighing his potential offers.

quote:

Mullen will be a hot coaching commodity, and he has to think about how long he can sustain what he did in 2014.

quote:

It's not like talent will just wash out of Starkville (Mississippi State's 2015 recruiting class ranks 10th nationally), but if this team, which might have been the most talented and most complete in school history, couldn't make it to Atlanta or slip into a playoff spot, next season's team will have an even tougher road ahead.

Dan Mullen should have coaching options (ESPN)

Are State fans concerned that when offers start flying Mullen's way (and they will), that he is going to take off?

Also, what do you think the national perception would be of Hugh Freeze recommitting to Ole Miss, and MSU's coach departing shortly thereafter (if he actually left, of course)?

I think Mullen is a great coach.

His antics are juvenile and his demeanor can be petulant and his gameday coaching decisions can be lacking and his ability to make chicken salad out of chicken shite is unparalleled and you know, he's actually not that great of a coach.

Nevermind.

Ole Miss fans so badly want to see Mullen gone.

In before Freeze is 2-1 against Mullen.

That doesn't matter. Ole Miss fans don't want the competition at all. They want Mullen gone and State to make a bad hire and go back to having 3-9 teams. It is hilarious.

It can only qualify as being scared.

He should but yet he doesn't. Hell, UF even announced he wasn't a candidate before he could turn them down. I don't think he will have the opportunity to go anywhere, which is kind of strange.

I think that embarassing fricking press conference, among other things, is going to make sure he stays in Starkville. I wouldn't want a guy who pouts like a spoiled 6 year old after a loss representing my school.

Well, Freeze hasn't actually been offered by anyone, and I suspect Mullen will be talked about when the Michigan job opens up here shortly. He will remain at State.

We fricked up in the Eggbowl. If you think it was our best effort then you need to look at both of our schedules and reassess. We giftwrapped yall a td, played with ourselves and failed to score at the end. It should have been a tied ballgame at the end of regulation.

If we would have won, what would have been your opinion of Freeze?? Would he be worth a new contract?

I'm not concerned. If he stays then great.

If we lose him then the program is in good shape with better facilities and a lot of talent. We can find another good coach

We are so pissed at him for taking Saturday night off that I doubt any of us cares if he leaves.

I would think they have an easier road next year. LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss at home?

Although Mullen called really conservative game plans against Bama and Ole Miss, he's one of the better coaches in the league. People forget what a shitshow MSU was in Sherrill's final years and under Croom.
