LOL I will be the first to admit that!

I would just like to see them play. For the record, I think A & M would beat the brakes off them.

Fair enough. Let me just say that for the tsips, perception is much more important than reality.

If we are matched up in a bowl then we'll welcome the matchup.

A&M offered to continue playing. Former school president Loftin is on record saying that very thing. But as the tables have turned, they are more concerned with changing perception than anything else...

Apparently younger Ags don't feel as connected to any sort of rivalry because the university is much less tied to the past after the 100 yr decision

Consider the source (Chip Brown)

2011 - Texas A&M does NOT have a standalone offer to join the SEC.

2012 - Manti Te'O is the 2012 Heisman winner per my sources

2013 - Mack Brown is not stepping down

No, I have great respect for the rivalry.

The tsips don't. As such, they are a horrid business partner.

Why is respect necessary for a rivalry? I highly doubt there is much respect between UGA/UF fanbases and lord knows respect doesn't even enter the equation between Auburn/Bama. It seems to me that the best rivalries just revolve around large heaping amounts of unabashed hatred.

This is a clown question.

When it comes to their business dealings at the conference level, you bet your arse respect is a huge part of the equation.

Not so with TAMU/t.u., I'm afraid.

The need for respect in the business side I can understand, but now that you are in the SEC that type of stuff should be much more easier to handle.

I guess I misinterpreted your initial assertion for a need for respect, because I thought you meant between the two fanbases, not administrations.

This is all very transparent. It's so obvious, a blind man could see it. Texas desperately wants and needs to play A&M. It's why they convince their lackey Chip Brown to write stories designed to make A&M look scared to play Texas; they are hoping to put public pressure on A&M to play them. Why are they so desperate to play A&M?

Because they are getting their arse kicked (consistently) on the recruiting trail. If this continues, they will soon find themselves with a significantly less talented roster than the one in College Station. A&M, rather than Texas, has become to landed ground for most of the state's top talent. Their only chance to stem the tide is to play and beat A&M.

A&M, on the other hand, has very little to gain by playing Texas. Why risk overturning the current applecart?

Yes, we've been a mediocre SEC West team the last two years, but we're slowly building a more talented roster than we've ever had. Losing to Texas could potentially change the recruiting dynamic, while beating them just keeps things the same. Nothing to gain.

That's a lot of words to say you're scared.

You'd think, but it actually just adds another layer of red tape for the sides to bicker over

Sorry, I should have clarified. May the hate spring eternal between Ags and horns, of course

I just don't trust them on the admin level as a business partner at all. That's the whole reason we're in the SEC to begin with.

Not that I'm complaining

HYC wants no part of the Longhorns due to 2 reasons

They think UT held them back in the past and want to show up UT

HYC thinks they are shot callers since they won a statue a few years ago.

Reality is nobody wants the game UT doesnt want it aTm doesnt want it. aTm wants to play a Texas school just not UT.

bull shite. have you ever thought that maybe they are just super pissed off at the longhorns? I mean, they trashed the hell out of the aggies for joining the SEC, publically and privately. even refused to play them in ANY sport. and talked the rest of the big 12 into ostracizing them too. I don't blame the aggies one whit for telling those assholes to go jump in the river.
