"The Phenom" looked pretty average to me. Although they open the playbook and rally around him.

That defense didn't dazzle me as truly the best in the country.

I seriously think were that awful that they should've beat us by 50.

Yep, we had opportunities to do more on offense, despite our OL having a poor game, but Thompson was ineffective today on some key passes, and again made bone-headed decisions with the ball.

He said in the post-game presser on the run out play where he got sacked from behind and lost the ball, that he thought there was a receiver downfield he was about to throw to, but in the replays he wasn't looking downfield but towards the Clemson sideline as if he was trying to run for the sideline.

Thing was, where he was running was going to be for a loss of yards, and I don't think anything he could have done then was going to amount to anything but a loss of yards, so when that's the case, and you have time to think (as opposed to a split-second safety blitz through the middle), it's really a no-brainer to just chuck the ball away into the sideline crowd or stands, and live to play another down. And even on a safety blitz the QB is supposed to be heady enough to see the incoming blitz before the snap, and audible into taking care of him, or timing his release to be quick so as to beat the blitzer. So in any case when it looks like there will be impending loss of yardage, the QB should always be disciplined enough to prevent that. But Thompson really has not grasped that concept all season long...

As for Clemson's defense: it's really been a complete reversal of roles between the two programs: CU kept improving on their recruitment of talented DL-men, and USC kinda fell into a black hole with all those hit-and-misses on DEs that couldn't make the grades to get into the program. So now Clemson did to us this season what we were doing to them during the first 4 wins of the streak. They almost did it to us last season, but Shaw carried us and Boyd stepped in their own way, as usual...

Really would have liked to see how the game could have turned out if Dylan had just thrown the ball away before that fumble. Very curious how a senior QB could not sense the pressure behind him and make such a bonehead move.

I thought Clemson's D-line looked close to as good as advertised. Of course, our O line has disappointed all year, so who knows. Many of the missed opportunities on offense were of Dylan's doing, unfortunately. Rushed, off balance, inaccurate passing at the slightest hint of pressure were very difficult to watch.

"The Phenom" beat you with a torn ACL. Three freshman wore USC out....Watson showed more heart than Clowney did as a Gamecock and now a Texan.
