At some point,, doesn't a coach have to protect a QB from himself?

Absolutely & think of the actual game at hand, not so much about how bad a player wants to finish, but about what's the best shot at winning. ... Also, we do have a bowl game to play which I assume BA will get the start, & we definitely need him pain free & healthy for that if he's going to play.

Third party observer here - if you pull BA and put his brother in and he throws and int all this board would be saying "Why pull him?, wth" so CBB couldn't win regardless. My take is this and those of you who have coached (doesn't matter the sport, just coached an actuall real world competition, with a good player injured) know that the kid is telling you he can go and you are stuck in a no win world if you pull him. You pull him and lose and forever is the doubt that the injured kid who could go would have won. We forget these guys are together everyday and there is no doubt in my mind that the rest of the team believed in BA being there and them winning but if he was pulled the doubt from the rest of the team begins to set in that they can win. It was the right call by CBB to allow a kid who says he can go to go! Just my take.

I was pulling for y'all today but the football gods didn't ordain it! Good luck in the bowl.
