My sentiments exactly. Born and raised in Baton Rouge. But I am long (long) past the age of caring about the bar scene (or lack thereof) in a college town.

Yeah, I'm not sure I argued about it, even when I cared about college bar scenes. 
Variety is always a good thing.
Who wants every town/city to be the same?
Then again, I've never visited an "opponents'" bar where I didn't have a great time.
I'm easy I guess.
