Why limit yourself to offensive minded coaches only? Not every defensive guy out there will be as clueless as boom when it comes to scoring points.

Because that is the type of coach that has brought NC's to the Gators. He trusts that formula and has decided that is what is best for him to keep his job.

He's a little defensive about hiring defensive coaches. I don't think he means to be offensive to offensive coaches.

He said he wanted a coach with a good track record on the offensive side of the ball.
That doesn't mean he's only looking at offensive minded coaches.

Name a defensive minded coach that has been successful at Florida.
The ONLY defensive coach I could see him going after is Bob Stoops

Foley's decision, but IMO For a head coach hire:
I think recruiting is priority number one. ESPECIALLY AT QB AND BOTH LINES.
Player development is number 2.
X's and O's are after that.
There are Many ways to win games, but if you get good players and develop them for your preferred system you can succeed.
