quote:Except that they would finish 3rd in their conference, not even winning their own division. Also State has only beaten one team that is currently in the top 25. And after Alabama destroys them, it could be only one if they are able to beat Ole Miss. It wouldn't be much better than TCU's.
Their resume would greatly trump that of a big 12 or big 10 champ
There's no way the committee puts in a team that finished 3rd in the SEC over two teams that won their conferences and only finished with one loss.

quote:Why does that matter. Does anyone dispute that Miss State would finish higher in any other conference? You play the games you have on your schedule. They would be 11-1, with a lot of good wins, and a very good loss.

Technically Alabama finished third in the conference and got in to the top two spots. Things can happen.

Then we need to do away with the committee, because having ohio state play in this simply because they won their abortion of a conference would be a joke. That team struggled with Navy

quote:I hate this metric. It's completely subjective. How many teams has MSU beaten that are top 25 in basically every computer ranking. People that think this whole committee playoff thing was meant to prop up the SEC are delusional.
Also State has only beaten one team that is currently in the top 25.
