I really doubt this. State still has a game left with a top 15 team. Their resume would greatly trump that of a big 12 or big 10 champ

TCU had the best crack at this but they beat Kansas by 4 and collectively fricked themselves. Virginia Tech has turned into a dumpster fire, so the committee can't with a straight face say OSU has a better resume than MSU

Except that they would finish 3rd in their conference, not even winning their own division. Also State has only beaten one team that is currently in the top 25. And after Alabama destroys them, it could be only one if they are able to beat Ole Miss. It wouldn't be much better than TCU's.

There's no way the committee puts in a team that finished 3rd in the SEC over two teams that won their conferences and only finished with one loss.
