Pros? Cons? Advantages? Disadvantages? I have no idea.

ETA: 17 inch rims are also an option.

what are they going on and what overall diameter do you want to end up with?

If they are going on a truck then a smaller rim with bigger tire will have more give if you go offroad. If it is staying on the road then thicker tires might be too bouncey.

If they are going on a car, then a bigger rim with thinner tire will be fine to stay on the road.

16" tires will be a shade cheaper than the 18", 15" is even cheaper with lots of options.

I have 18's. You can only buy low-profile tires which are much more expensive, but if you're into performance, have a few benefits.

edit: Obviously depends on what it's going on...I have a car so low-profile is only option with 18's. I'm guessing you don't need it, but finding low profile snow tires is a pain in the arse.

It has never occurred to me to change the rims on my car. I hear the floor workers at some of our facilities talk about it, but honestly I've never given it much thought. What does it do other than change the look?
