Living in Memphis I was so happy when MU was invited into the SEC. I can go to road games. Been to Vandy, UT, and Ole Miss for Missouri games. I have also gone to games at Bama and UGA to watch games that did not have MU playing.

Now I can add TAMU to the list. Went with an Aggie friend of mine here in Memphis. We are the red headed step children of the SEC and we stick together. They feel the same way from the few I talked to at College Station.

The stadium is awesome. The fans were very friendly to me. They have a lot of tradition at the game. BBQ was great and the pre game party I went to was great also.

The disapointment was the TAMU fans towards TAMU. The USA Today paper I read on the flight to Dallas had TAMU as the third (3rd) best fan base in college football. They do for the first half of the game but they jump ship at half time. Yes it was not the best weather but it was only drizzle. Dress in layers and wear a $5 poncho from Big Lots and you will be comfortable. The end zone opposite of where the Missouri fans were was more than half empty after half time. The fans around me were leaving to go to another party or the party they came from.

I thought I would see more from the TAMU fans but maybe that is the way all fan bases are.

One great thing about going to a game compared to watching on tv is you get to see more on the sidelines. We need to STOP sending in all these signals from the sideline. CALL A PLAY AND RUN THAT PLAY !!!! Missouri did not do all that signal calling in the third qtr. 28 points and total domination. Everyone was on the same page.

I will go back to TAMU for a game. Probably a non Missouri game. TAMU is so glad we do not go back to College Station for a few years.

The upper North endzone you are referring to has been the "budget" seating for years with only a small seat donation required on top of the ticket cost. So lots of families with small children. The lower part of that zone has a good deal of senior citizens in it. We sit on the West side and brought a couple with us that are over 75, when they said they were too cold in the 3rd quarter we went downstairs out of the rain. Probably only the 2nd game in my life I've left my seat before the clock showed 0:00. But wouldn't have been right to stay and leave them below by themselves. But in the end, we just aren't used to the colder and wetter game environment. I saw lots of folks with light jackets and no hat or poncho. Didn't understand how you could not look at the weather forcast and realize you needed to be prepared.

Mizzou fans were great as they always are. Pleasure to have them.

Many moons ago. 1993 Auburn beat Georgia and Bama played Southern Mississippi. I think that was Halloween of 1999.

I've watched Mizzou at A&M and at Texas. Both are impressive stadiums and I was treated just fine by the opposing fans.

In comparing the two stadiums, I will give the game day atmosphere to A&M. All of the chanting and swaying they do was hypnotic (although I was drinking a bit so my equilibrium may have been tarnished).

In comparing the two campuses, UT is far better. A&M reminds me of soviet era architecture, just giant blocks of grey concrete with few windows. They have almost no greek system and the bars seem very small (the opposite of Mizzou). I don't know where the students of a school that size drink.
