/We have the likely Heisman winner on our team./

A hotshot QB does not a championship team make. How many Super Bowls did the Broncos lose with Elway at the helm?
Teams that rely on a high-powered offense to compensate for a mediocre defense, racking up 40+ points per game through the regular season against hapless opponents, are susceptible to a psychological breakdown when they go up against a stifling defense in the big game. They tend to become frustrated when the opposing defense denies them their habitual score on every drive, and that frustration eventually leads to mental errors, cf. 1989 Buffaloes and 2002 Hurricanes.
I certainly hope the Ducks win out, so we can all witness their debacle against the defense of the SECW champion in the playoff.

We designed a defense to stop Stanford. Part of our problem is we have too big a front seven and we don't use multiples. Against Bama, we'd actually fare better than Miss State. Put our linebackers out in space and they look like shite.

That, and Ifo and Armstead, our lockdown corner and 5 million dollar DE, have played all year on an ankle sprain. Give them 4 weeks to rest up and I like our chances against the pass and the rush.
