Winning is the only difference.

People in Mississippi have been used to being last in everything and bad at football for their entire existence. Alabama's history is the opposite - which has created a feeling of entitlement. When the low IQ, redneck, side-walkers of the state develop a sense of entitlement - it becomes toxic.

You didn't hear about any of these stories when Bama was losing 6 games every year. It wasn't until we won big that you start seeing these stories from enraged fans because their team lost.
