SEC will never be as down as the Big 10 is now. We won't have many years like this where the West could end up with 5 teams tied for first with 6-2 conference records, but we'll always have 2 or 3 big powers vying for a playoff spot each year.

Everything is cyclical. The CFP will force inter league home-and-home games which inevitably will create more parity across the board in all conferences.

But southern schools do have an advantage in that many states allow high school athletes to play a sport all year. You can't do that in Ohio and other Midwest states (rules limit participation). There's been talk of changing this but I highly doubt anything happens.
