What's the most racist thing you've ever witnessed in real life?

Not on the internet or television, I mean out in the wild.
One time in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Manhattan, Kansas I saw an old white guy yell at a white teenager who was bumping rap music in his car to "turn off that n****r music". That's the worst I've seen.

When my Petty Officer (who is black) told a black recruit to "do the white thing".

My grandfather sometimes refers to touchdown dances by black players as "nig jigs". I try not to laugh, but it's fricking hard.

Some black guys targeted a white male that was trying to get on MARTA.

Being told by a kid on a playground in oklahoma that he "didn't play with black kids" when i was 6.
My brother and i got called the n word a couple of times in austin when we went there for Aggie games.
Watching my sisters get propositioned for sex by Greek men because they assumed they were african hookers.
Being called a "house _*gger" by extended family for voting Republican.
There's other little shite that happens, but it's not worth dredging up/focusing on. Others have/have had it far worse than me or other minorities here or in other countries, and I'm still a pretty happy guy at the end of the day

When my grandfather died, we were at my gramdma's house after the funeral and my dad asked if we could turn on the Masters so he could see Tiger Woods.
My grandmother asked "Oh, is he that colored boy? I don't like him".
My jaw hit the ground.

Was at a meeting for my old job. Pretty big one where they addressed every department and gave out stupid awards and shite based on performance. All of upper management is there including the big boss. At the end they let employees come up and ask questions and voice concerns. The last guy comes up, and he has a strong African accent.
"It's my understanding that this is an EEO employer, and that there is no discrimination when promoting people, but when I look around I notice that all of management is Caucasian."
The entire room burst into laughter and couldn't believe what they just saw. Dude just called his boss, his boss's boss, and that boss's boss a racist right in front of the entire shift.
The big boss fell silent for a minute or so before saying "And on that note, back to work!"
FWIW, earlier in the meeting they announced promotions for two black people. Never saw that dude again.

You are very young and lived a very sheltered life. Sometimes humans are just the worst things in what they choose to do to other humans.
As an aside, my uncle survived the Bataan Death March and he was never the same after that.

Was taking a friend (black guy) back to his apartment after a party one night and parked to let him out. After sitting there about 5 minutes while he called his roommate to make sure he was there, a cop car pulled up behind me blocking me in.
The cop came up to the car and said "there's been some break ins in the area and we need to search your car". I was 19 and had never dealt with the cops before (at least like that) so I reluctantly agreed to it. They pulled everything out of my car and when going through my training bag pulled out my taping scissors and said "you know I could charge you with having a concealed weapon with this". Then they grabbed my friend and was like "you know you fit the description of our robber" threw him on top of the car and started to search him. They then pulled out his wallet and threatened to arrest him for not having his driver's license on him. He had neither been driving and had his school ID on him instead.
Then the cop was like "well we won't arrest you tonight but you need to get your whore arse and n***** friend out of our neighborhood.". As they were leaving I was able to manage to get their names and car tag. My parents took me down to file a complaint the next day and the two cops were put on administrative leave but were later allowed to return.
The same station they were based out of was nailed for illegal detainment and a shite ton of racial profiling.

While here in Mexico City:
I was buying bootlegged DVDs (don't judge me) and the guy selling them asked where I was from.
When I told him I was American he said: ...Are you racist?
While my Mexican girlfriend was standing next to me.

I have an uncle and a few cousins that still, in 2014, drop the "N-bomb" left and right.
For a couple of years in Jr. High, my best friend was a black kid. He invited me to go to his family reunion in New Orleans without asking his parents. When he told them, they said that unfortunately I wouldn't be allowed to attend. He admitted to me that the reason I couldn't go was because I was white, and a number of their relatives would have a problem with me just because of this... They were pretty pissed at him for telling me the reason.
They are really good folks and were just trying to protect me. Sometimes people can escape the ignorance they were born into, and sometimes they remain in it their entire lives.

Yeah..... My family has been in Birmingham for the better part of 100 years.
My dad and uncle lived through the high school integrations. My dad, just recently, can refer to black people as black and not the N word. My uncle was one of many people on TV protesting integration and was throwing rocks at the kids as they walked into either Ensley or West End.
My granddad and uncle were Birmingham police officers during the same time frame. I have my grand dad's service revolver and police ID card signed by Bull Connor. Anytime is see a civil rights documentary and they show the Birmingham police, I look for my granddad. I haven't seen him yet. My dad said he'd come home at night with knuckles so bloody and bruised he couldn't close his hands.
I've seen and heard about everything.

We were playing Cumberland College at their field my senior year and our locker room was located under the student section of the stands. As we were walking in at halftime, some of their students busted out the N-word on some brothers on my team who were from Natchez. They were pissed and after we won the game, they made sure to yell into the crowd, "Who's the **** now?"

It's bad that seeing something like this would be considered a normal day for me. I can't even begin to think of the most racist things I've seen in my life.
I know restaurants here that still instruct waitresses to seat whites and blacks in separate rooms.
Every delta town has what we refer to as the "white (insert chain store or gas station name) or black (inserts store name). For example a friend calls "meet me at the double quick" and you usually respond the "white or black one". In my hometown the white one had a baskin robbins and the black one had a Churchs chicken
I don't know how many farmers I've seen yell racial slurs at their labor. Actually seen them threaten black workers with guns or throw wrenches at them.
Houses in "white" neighborhoods aren't listed because they don't want a black family to buy them..have to use the "good ol boy" network to buy a nice house because it'll rarely be shown as "on the market".
Once a local farmer who was a big donor to the local private academy came into our farm office ranting about how the academy let in a black kid to play football. His exact quote "you can have a 55 gallon drum of vanilla ice cream and the first scoop of shite you put in it will ruin the whole thing".
That's just a few off the top of my head. I've seen some crazy shite living around here my entire life. And a lot of people here will get along fine with black people, there are just that group that are extremely hateful and the culture is different where the people who aren't racist generally accept the behavior of those who are rather than look down upon it.

Was walking with a friend, two 13 year old white boys completely minding our own business at a town music festival. A large group, 20 or so black adolescents was nearby. As we passed, one of them yelled "who are you calling a nigg--" and that caused the whole mob to jump us. We were talking about Ford Mustangs.
