When Mizzou runs-
The offense has been awful, which hasn't really allowed the running game to get on track but we have two good backs and a QB that can move. Showed up last week with a good effort.
MU 9th in the conference at 160 yards per game
UK is 13 in the conference allowing 190 yards per game
Advantage Mizzou
When Mizzou throws-
The struggles are well documented here. Mauk hasn't been good. The WR and pass blocking have both had their issues at times.
MU is 13th in the conference at 171 yards per game
UK is 3rd in the conference giving up only 186 yards per game and also second in INT.
Advantage UK
When UK runs-
The Wildcats also have a talented group of backs and a QB that can hurt you with his feet. Mizzou has allowed several 100 yard rushers but for the most part has been solid against the run.
UK is 10th in the conference at 160 yards per game
MU is 8th in the conference giving up 138 yards per game, but their YPC would be tied for 4th.
Advantage MU
When UK throws-
The wildcats have a talented young QB and young WR, but they have had issues giving up sacks. Mizzou can exploit that area and has been good overall against the pass.
UK is 5th in the conference at 266 yards per game, and also tied for 4th with only 5 picks. They have given up the second most sacks in the league.
MU is 7th at 211, but their YPA would be 4th. Also have the 6th most INT and 2nd in sacks.
Pretty close, but slight advantage Mizzou
Special teams-
Kickers are close. Punters are close. Mizzou has a big advantage in both coverage and return teams.
Advantage Mizzou
Misc and Coaching-
UK is +9 in TO margin, Mizzou is +6. Both are pretty bad with penalties giving up around 55 yards per game. Pinkel and Co have been there and won big games before, Stoops and Co really haven't although they are definitely trending the right way
Push
Seems to me we have a fairly significant advantage in this game. The Tigers are quite good in 2 out of 3 phases of the game, but really bad at the other. The Wildcats do have some promising young talent and they seem to be playing hard for their coach. However, I think the Tigers are the better team with the more experienced coach and are at home. UK is a popular upset pick this week and it's not out of the question BUT...I'm picking the Tigers 27-17

Nice analysis.
If the capable Mauk shows up and our pass rush is fierce, I like our chances.
UK's quarterback and big wideouts remind me of something Missouri usually has.

You should use SEC conference play stats when doing these comparisons.

really? ok, pretty sure I could count all those "won big games" on one hand.
