Even Mizzou? Lose to Indiana at home, blown out by UGA.

Follow along. Mizzou wins out. Auburn beats UGA. Mizzou beats West representative in ATL.

I know, I know. It's not going to happen. Hypothetical though. SEC champ an auto bid? I personally think they would take a 1 loss west rep who didn't win the division in that case.

I don't think Mizzou could make the playoff, even with a SECCG victory.

Like Jeff Long said, I think the bottom line is they aren't considering conferences, period - whether for or against. That's why the SEC has 3 of the top 4. It's basically how does your entire body of work stand up to the teams around you in the rankings.

Doubtful there will be a 2 loss team in this year. Too many one-loss teams.

The committee is going about the whole process the right way, which is encouraging.

UGA could and would make it (assuming we win out regular season). I think Mizzou is too far gone at this point.

Why do you even raise a moronic a scenario like this? Stop it!
IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN

Cannot stand this moronic playoff scenario talk with over a MONTH to go in the season

Nope. Mizzou would not make the playoff. The two losses are bad losses.

I could see a VERY minute chance IF Mizzou has blowouts vs every opponent left and then destroys a #1 ranked SECW team in Atlanta. If a case could be made Mizzou might be the hottest team in the country at the end of the season, I'd give Mizzou a 20% chance of making it.

I think the committee would be most comfortable ignoring a conference champion if it is to the benefit of another team within that conference.

with the east west skewed so hard this year in the SEC, could anyone really blame the committee for essentially saying "what you did all year is more important than that one game in Atlanta"?

Obviously there are lots of things at stake, but assuming the SECw Rep is coming out of egg bowl or iron bowl, those games are probably going to be absolute wars. Could you really drop 12-1 Mississippi State for a 11-2 Georgia, or 11-2 Missouri? In that situation taking both would obviously be desired, but if you HAD to pick one? H2H and Conference champs are important, but so is total resume. I would go with Miss St. just my opinion.

No. If Mizzou won, it'd be a prime opportunity to show the country the "we don't care about conference" game works for the SEC too.

Not saying they wouldn't get in, but I think it'd be dicey.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying the SEC champ will automatically be in the playoffs. Yes, it is extremely likely but it's not like there is a reserved seed for whoever wins the SEC. Plenty of scenarios could keep an SEC team out

If it's a 2 loss team, particularly an east team, there is a very real chance they get left out.

Maybe, maybe not.
