Most exciting part of being a sports fan could be coming soon for VOLS fans.

Butch Jones- Jones is a native of Saugatuck, Mich., and prior to coming to Tennessee, he spent the majority of his career in the B1G footprint. Jones can recruit, is a dynamic offensive coach and his ties to the state mean that he understands what being the head football coach at Michigan is all about. Jones has UT on the upswing and just like Mark Dantonio and Brian Kelly before him, enjoyed a great run at Cincinnati prior to heading to a Power 5 conference. Two different college coaching sources said in their opinion, Jones would have strong interest in the position.

3 wins is on the upswing? That's like saying Bert has Arkansas on upswing, both are horrible.

Why would Jones leave after doing all the heavy lifting on Rocky Top.
He has a top roster coming back next year and is about to actually reap the benefits of all his hard work.
I seriously doubt he takes that job.
I also doubt Michigan would be able to sell him to a very disgruntled fan base if he finishes 6-6 or 5-7 this season at Tennessee.

Will Tennessee fans attempt to burn down his mom's house if he leaves?

UT will be dumb to let Butch get away. He's actually building UT into a very strong team. A lot of freshman gaining plenty of game experience will pay off next season and the seasons to follow. UT will contend for the east division in 2015 and win it in 2016 & 2017.

Why would Michigan settle for a coach with a losing record?

Tennessee won't be relevant again until the culture within the program changes from hoping to win games to expecting to win and playing confidently. That hasn't happened since Phil Fulmer was the coach.

I think Tenn has suffered enough. If they lose a pretty good coach, it could be the death nail.

Michigan is a great job. But so is Tennessee.
Butch has put in an investment at UT that is about to pay off. Just on the cusp of being a real factor in the SEC.
2015 will be interesting for the Vols. I hope he stays the course.

Why would Michigan want to hire not only a no name like Butch Jones, but a no name with a losing record at his current job who is a very, very average coach that built his reputation off of being Brian Kelly's yes man?
