I'm sure he looks at the defensive side of the ball and thinks Texas is better there. The same reason that every decent offensive recruit in Texas is going to Baylor or A&M (with much more going to A&M).

Even the worst A&M defense of all time (2005) only gave up 42 to Iowa State.
