Honestly, I an a bit worried about Matthews. All of the returning Aggie o-line starters look worse this year. It might have been easier to pass block when defenses didn't want to get to Johnny because he would run right around them.

Nothing to worry about with Matthews.
He is a rookie who has a nagging injury and is playing LT, arguably the hardest position in all of football to play (especially as a rookie).

No one expected him to be great this year. Doesn't help Falcons Oline is now using a 3rd string RT and a 3rd string practice squad center. Guards have to make up for that, leaving Matthews who practiced all training camp as a RT by himself.

Agree. The Falcons OL at training camp start was actually serviceable (not amazing, but serviceable). Their injuries have honestly been insane. 2 centers, 2 tackles and a guard are all out for the season. And like we said above, I'm 100% convinced Matthews is playing hurt at a position he probably shouldn't be playing this early in his career with no help around him.

It's a disaster.

- starting LT Sam Baker out for season
- backup (now starting) C Peter Konz out for season
- starting C Joe Hawley out for season
- backup (now starting) OT Lamar Holmes out for season
- backup OL Mike Johnson out for season
