Actually truth to this. He went 75-48 over a 9 year run and was SEC coach of the year in 2001 & 2006 (no other coach at Arkansas ever won that award). Historically he wasn't that bad, not nearly so much as some try to make him out to be.
Okay, so not all Arkansas fans have this reaction. That'll teach me to be over-broad in my generalizations.
But, yeah, I do get why lots of Arkansas fans aren't fond of Nutt. It's just the level of rage so many display that befuddles me. By any reasonable standard, Nutt gave the Razorbacks some pretty good years. He wasn't Saban, but he wasn't Smiley McJLS either. For that matter, he managed to win the West twice (three times, technically), which the much more revered Petrino never managed at all.

He was fricking with his secretary and some other stuff when they kicked him out. And he blew games he should've won at arky especially with the talent level he had... Gus was the one winning games. In spite of Nutt. Gus got those awards for Nutt.
And ole miss dumb arse good ole boy athletic director Pete Boone said... Hmm I'll spend about 7 seconds worth of research on a coach.. That guy. Same thing he did with. Nike Contracts and Coach Orgeron before him... He'll Cutcliffe should never have been fired..... I'm glad he was because through all the pain it took we found freeze... But still Cutcliffe was a pretty good coach, recruiter, and man.
